Entries for the Rainworth SKODA Dukeries Rally opened on Monday 9th July and within 36 hours over 80 entries had been received from all over the UK via the online entry system.    The maximum number of cars is capped at 80 so we have created a list of Paid Reserves.  The latest ‘unseeded’ entry list can be viewed in the Competitor section of this website.  We usually have a number of withdrawals in the period up to the event so if you want to compete on the Dukeries Rally, please put in an entry and make an immediate payment and there is a good chance you will get a run.

This will be the first rally to be held at Donington Park since the Dukeries Rally last year because the Donington Rally which was due to take place on 4th March was unfortunately a victim of the wintry weather = the Beast from the East !

Since the MSV takeover at Donington Park late last year there have been many improvements to the venue including the opening of the new Garage 39 Restaurant and Café located between Paddocks 1 and 2, a new 1,000 seat Grandstand on the outside of Holywood looking down the Craner Curves towards the Old Hairpin and the complete surfacing/resurfacing of Paddocks 2 and 3.

The Main Entrance for ALL traffic to Donington Park is now off Melbourne Road, Islay Walton, DE74 2NR. (not the Museum entrance).  Car 1 will start the first stage at 9.20am.  The official event Programmes will be on sale at the venue (sold by the Clipstone Scouts) and will include plans of all the different stage routes used during the day as well as a seeded entry list.

Tyre Support

We have received confirmation that both Tyres (South Shore) Ltd and JD Tyres will be attending the event.  Competitors should contact them direct if they have any specific requirements.

Jim Porter

Finally, it is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of Jim Porter this week.  Jim, along with Roger Clark won the Dukeries Rally on three occasions, firstly in 1962 and then again in 1972 and 1973 when it was part of the British Rally Championship.  He was also worked very closely with members of Dukeries MC when he was Clerk of the Course of the Lombard RAC Rally in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

Photo is of Ian and John Dove (Vauxhall Nova) who are one of the clubman entries again this year.
